Moritz College of Law Transcript Request

Effective February 1, 2022, Moritz will no longer issue unofficial transcripts. Transcript requests are processed by the University Registrar’s Office, which offers several convenient and secure options to students for transcript delivery:

Mail: A transcript can be delivered by mail and requests are processed within three business days. An option for expedited delivery is available which may incur a cost.

Pick-up: Transcripts can be picked up in person from the Student Academic Services Building, 281 West Lane Avenue, Columbus, Ohio.

Electronically: Electronic transcripts are processed within twenty-four hours using a secured platform and mode of delivery.

Important Notes

Cost: Law School tuition and fees include the cost of transcripts for a lifetime, so there is no fee associated with this service (beyond a charge for expedited services). It may appear that you will incur a transcript charge while going through the ordering process, but you will not be charged when finalizing the order.

Hold Transcript Request for End of Term Grades (for current students): Law grades and cumulative numerical averages are available for Law students several weeks after the end of the term. Because of this, please hold off on submitting transcript requests to the University Registrar’s office until you receive a communication from Moritz Student Affairs informing you that Law grades and cumulative numerical averages are available for the most recent term.

Official vs. Unofficial: The University Registrar only issues official transcripts. The University Registrar also sends the student’s collective Ohio State record. This means that if a student attended OSU as an Undergrad and a Law student, both records will be sent on separate pages.

If you have an official transcript sent to yourself (hard copy or electronic), it immediately becomes “unofficial” once opened. If a third-party is requesting an official transcript, send the transcript directly to the third-party to maintain authenticity. If a third-party is okay with an unofficial transcript, you can choose which transcripts to send.

Advising Report (for current students): Advising Reports can be printed at the student’s convenience at any time from Buckeye Link. While the formatting is different than the transcript record, advising reports contain the same information that is presented on the transcript, with the addition of test scores (SAT/ACT etc.). Please click here for more information.
